Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Muse collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Muse mobile application.

Last updated: May 18, 2026

1. Information We Collect

Muse is designed to keep your experience lightweight and privacy-aware. Depending on how you use the app, we may collect or access the following:

  • Images and media you choose to use: Muse may access photos or videos only when you import them, save your creations, or use camera-based features.
  • Camera and microphone access: If you use camera or video features, Muse may request access to your device camera and microphone.
  • App preferences and local settings: Muse stores settings such as theme preference, onboarding progress, favorites, recent session details, reminder preferences, and drawing level locally on your device.
  • Device and Usage Identifiers: When advertisements are displayed, our third-party advertising partners may automatically collect certain device information, including your device's Advertising ID (AD_ID), IP address, approximate location (country/city level), operating system type, and app interaction data (such as ad views and clicks).

2. How We Use Information

We use information only to operate and improve Muse, including to:

  • provide camera, image import, and creative tracing features;
  • save your preferences and recent activity on your device;
  • send daily practice reminders if you enable notifications;
  • load templates, categories, or app content from our backend services;
  • serve contextually relevant advertisements, limit the number of times you see the same ad, and analyze ad performance and revenue;
  • prevent ad fraud, detect invalid traffic, and maintain app security.

3. Permissions

Muse may request certain device permissions. These are used only for app features you choose to use:

  • Camera: to support tracing, capturing, and camera-based workflows.
  • Microphone: to support video recording features, where available.
  • Photos and media library: to let you import source images and save generated content.
  • Notifications: to send optional daily reminders if you turn them on.

You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.

4. Local Storage

Some information is stored locally on your device to improve usability and help Muse remember your preferences. This may include recent session data, favorite items, selected theme, onboarding completion, and notification settings.

Local data remains on your device unless you remove it, uninstall the app, or clear app storage through your device settings.

5. Third-Party Services and Advertising

Muse integrates trusted third-party software development kits (SDKs) to deliver core functionality and monetize the app through advertisements. These third-party services include:

  • Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads: Used to serve advertisements and manage ad distribution networks. Google may use your device's advertising identifier to show personalized or non-personalized ads based on your region and privacy choices.

These third-party providers process information independently according to their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

6. Data Retention

Information stored locally on your device is retained until you delete it, clear app storage, or uninstall Muse. If backend-hosted app content is used, related service records may be retained for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

7. Children’s Privacy

Muse is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Muse, please contact us so we can review and address the issue.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information used by Muse. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Muse after any update means you accept the revised policy.
